The 10th International Conference on Smart Finance (ICSF2025) will be hosted jointly by the School of Economics and Management, Tongji University, and the Institute of Innovation Management, Tsinghua University. The conference will take place on July 1-2, 2025, at the School of Economics and Management, Tongji University, Shanghai, China.
The International Conference on Smart Finance (ICSF), established in 2016 and currently affiliated with the Association for Information Systems (AIS), has become a leading platform for academic and industry collaboration in the evolving field of Smart Finance. The first ICSF, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, aimed to foster collaboration between scholars from China, Hong Kong, and Macao, and was hosted by the City University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen. Since then, the conference has been held in major cities such as Guangzhou, Beijing, Beidaihe, and Dubai.
Conference Overview
Smart Finance focuses on the convergence of FinTech and data-driven technologies, including large-scale pre-trained models, AI, blockchain, and big data analytics, along with emerging financial business models such as digital currencies, smart contracts, supply chain finance, and embedded payments. As foundational models (such as ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, and Gemini) and other advanced technologies evolve rapidly, they are increasingly driving the transformation of Smart Finance, expanding the boundaries and applications of financial innovations.
In the age of artificial intelligence, the application of foundational models can significantly enhance the intelligence of financial systems, ranging from predictive analytics and personalized services to risk management and decision optimization, thus ushering in a new technological revolution for the finance industry. However, the adoption of these technologies also introduces complex challenges related to ethics, privacy protection, and regulatory frameworks. Key concerns include ensuring transparency, fairness, and effective regulation while safeguarding data privacy. Addressing these issues is crucial as the financial sector moves forward with the application of innovative technologies. ICSF2025 aims to explore these challenges by bringing together academia, industry experts, and regulatory entities to collaborate on ensuring the sustainable and secure application of AI and foundational models in finance.
